Sicuramente avrete notato che tra i trend di quest’inverno 2013/14 c’è il tartan, il caratteristico disegno quadrettato generalmente riprodotto su un tessuto di lana, meglio conosciuto come stampa scozzese, nei colori rosso e nero, blu o verde.
Dalle sfilate si vedono gli abbinamenti più disparati, ma è consigliabile comunque non esagerare e non indossare un total look interamente in tartan, ma abbinarlo con accessori in tinta unita.
Prima di proporvi però la mia selezione dal web e dalle sfilate, vorrei brevemente riassumervi la storia del tartan.
La sua notorietà è legata agli avvenimenti storici ed alla cultura della Scozia. Usato come kilt per gli uomini, i vari disegni servivano a distinguere i 33 clan “casate” situate nelle Highlands della Scozia già nel XVI secolo in Inghilterra.
Anticamente i colori erano ottenuti da tinture vegetali ricavate facendo macerare varie radici di piante locali, muschio e fiori. Oggi si usano, invece, tinture chimiche per ottenere le varie sfumature.

The tartan is the leading actor also of the street style and the store windows all over the world are full of tartan style. We can found it not only on the classic pleated skirt, but also on coats, jackets, pants, skirt, shoes, bags and a lot of accessories. We can found the tartan printing in the red, blue and green colours. It’s a very versatile print and you can use it with different looks, either for day and night, both for work and leisure.
You can wear a tartan pants or a tartan skirt with a plain shirt or brighten a plain dress with some tartan accessories, like for example a bag or a pair of shoes.
If you are curvy, you should choose little squared printings that do not tend to enlarge the figure. Instead, if you are thin and tall, the tartan pants will fit you.
